Next Stop: Forbes 30 Under 30 for TMS Co-Founders
The Co-Founders of Transport Made Simple (TMS), Dominic Kalantary and Peter Nathanail, have been recognised in the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, celebrating the success which TMS has enjoyed over the last ten years. TMS was founded in 2016, as school transport technology company Vectare, and later pivoted to operating its own fleet of buses and coaches in response to growing demand from corporate clients. From humble beginnings with just one leased minibus, almost 400 vehicles are now operated, with a team of 800 colleagues successfully delivering more than 10 million passenger journeys every year. Still proudly independently owned, with Dominic and Peter each remaining 50% shareholders, TMS remains focused on providing high quality, reliable local bus services across East Anglia and the Midlands, alongside bespoke transport solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Dominic sits on the TMS Board as a Non-Executive Director and Peter leads the business day to day as Group Managing Director.
Commenting on the Forbes recognition that he and Dominic have achieved, Peter said “It is such a great honour to have our hard work acknowledged by Forbes in this way. I am passionate about delivering consistently high quality public transport services, and to be able to do so within the framework of building a sustainable business and then have that success recognised, is fantastic. Our wonderful people who get up every morning (or often in the middle of the night!) to drive, fix, clean and coordinate our buses are the reason that we have been able to grow so quickly and build the reputation which we have, and I am exceptionally grateful to everybody who is part of the current team, and those who have worked with us in the past and supported us on our journey of growth”.
Part of the growth achieved by TMS has been delivered through merger and acquisition (M&A) activity, initially through the purchase of a cluster of bus and coach operators in Essex between 2020 and 2023. In 2024 the now Head Office in Diss, on the Norfolk / Suffolk border, was purchased as part of the deal to acquire Simonds of Botesdale, a longstanding name synonymous with high quality coach travel across East Anglia. The latest M&A success came in October 2025, when the former Go East Anglia operations were acquired from the Go-Ahead Group, making us the largest independently owned passenger transport provider across East Anglia.
The Forbes success comes during a time of major investment into the team, fleet and facilities across TMS. In April the inaugural TMS Awards Ceremony was held in Colchester, celebrating colleagues from across the business for the hard work and commitment they show every day. There are a significant number of new buses on order to upgrade the Central Connect bus network, and a £1m investment has also been made into brand new coaches to support corporate transport solutions. This investment comes alongside a number of depot expansion projects which are now being delivered.
So, although it is safe to say that Dominic and Peter will only have one listing on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list (they are both 29!), the whole team at TMS are looking forward to their second decade in business, with a bright future ahead both for those who use Central Connect public transport services, and the fantastic team who deliver them.
