Transport Made Simple invests £5.8m in brand new British-built buses

Transport Made Simple have announced a significant investment into modernising and expanding the Group fleet, taking delivery of 26 brand new Alexander Dennis single and double deck buses.

15 Enviro200 MMC midibuses, 8.9m in length and seating up to 30 passengers, have been chosen because they provide an ideal balance of manoeuvrability and capacity for local routes. 11 Enviro400 MMC double deckers have also been added, offering a high capacity solution for busy commuter bus services and contract hire and shuttle services. Each vehicle seats 85, so when operated as a fleet, these 11 vehicles alone can move in excess of 900 passengers. This provides an attractive alternative to hiring significant numbers of coaches for clients looking for a comfortable and cost effective way of transporting large numbers of people for events and festivals.

All vehicles are built to our bespoke specification, with very high quality interiors. High back, comfortable seats, low floor access and USB-A and USB-C charging sockets at every seat offer passengers high standards of comfort, accessibility and safety whilst travelling. The double deck vehicles are also equipped with three-point seatbelts, tachographs and radios and PA systems.

This latest fleet expansion builds on a sustained programme of investment over recent years. With 16 new buses added in 2024, and 12 in 2023, our Central Connect division now boasts an average fleet age of only three years. Around two thirds of our fleet are independently certified as Low Carbon Emission Buses, underlining our commitment to environmental sustainability.
